Personal reading
AS91106 is optional for Level 2 students. It is a good opportunity for students who find internal assessment less stressful than external assessment. It is a good assessment for both weak and strong English students, so long as you are prepared to do the reading. It also counts 4 credits towards UE Literacy reading which is extremely valuable.
Further instructions and examples are on a separate reading weebly: http://examplel2readingresponses.weebly.com/
and the formal student instructions are here.

responses
Your responses will mostly be written, but verbal conversations with your teacher can be recorded by arrangement. Most responses can be written in under a page.
The step up from Level 1 personal reading responses is in the depth of thinking and development of your response. Your explanations will need to be more thoughtful and expanded upon. You will be able to show more engagement with the aspect of the text that has caught your attention. For higher grades, you will be able to reflect on the ideas or characters and convincingly/perceptively consider their relevance or impact upon our society.
This blank chart might be helpful for you to organise your response.
